Bank Holiday Monday 26.5.14

As far as bank holiday Mondays I never really use them to their full advantage because I normally have Mondays off, but today I definitely made the most of it. I caught up with my oldest and best friend Rhianna (the picture of me and her was from her 18th birthday last month). We decided that shopping was to much in the heat and with town being so busy, so we headed to our local Yates's where we both had the southern fried chicken Burger with fries and I had a coke and she had a lemonade. It really was tasty and filling... I'm still in my food coma!! After a nice stroll round a couple of shops, attempting to walk off our food we headed to the beach to relax and enjoy the sun. Whilst at the beach we decided we'd head to the local fair which comes to our town every year... which I always miss, but this year we made it and stupidly I forgot to take pictures but it was the wyndyke fair and we both had the proper fun fair experience. We then headed back to mine and had a lovely catch up and a really nice tea curtsey of my mum and dad. I had a really nice day and it was nice to see rhianna.
I hope you had a nice bank holiday weekend.

May favourites 2014.

May favourites.
More May favourites.
So May is coming to an end, which only means one thing it's favourites time. Again i don't have many as i have this horrible habbit of buying new products around this timme, and then when it comes to next months favourites it's either all gone or forgotten about. Herbal essences moroccan my shine nourishing conditioner- i'd do anything to have hair like Nicole scherzinger (Nicole's the face of this- all the ad's on t.v). Unfortunatley this hasn't given me Nicole's hair but it has given my hair more of a shine and a bit more life. An added bonus is the smell it smells gorgeous (tropical holiday kind of smell). Natural collection blushed cheeks in (Peach Melba)- I dedicated a post to this lovely yesterday, but since i've got i've used it non-stop so it had to be in my favourties. For a full review check yesterdays post. Simple kind to skin soothing facial toner- I've been dying to get my hands on this and i'm annoyed at myself for not picking it up sooner. I will have a complete blog post up about it soon so i don't want to give to much away. I'm having a rubbish skin time at the moment and this is definitely helping me to battle through it. Simple kind to skin soothing facial scrub- Again i'm kicking myself for not picking this up sooner. And yes there will be a post about this one to, so i can't tell you too much. All i'm going to say is in my opinoun everybody needs one of these. Revlon renewest lipcolor in (Radiant Ruby 180)- This product has already had a whole post to itself before now. A little confession i think this must be my favourite of all the favourites, but i don't think i'll ever be able to give this product true justice until you have it for yourself. It's the perfect mutted red lip. Calvin klein splendid color nail enamel (Red Red)- I do believe this has already featured in a previous favourites, but i coudn't resist chucking it in again as it is for a different season after all. Now the sun's out so are the sandels or toe showing shoes. So all toes and toe nails need to be preemed within an inch of their lies. Painted toe nails is really a basic minimum if your going to get your toes out. This polish just makes getting your feet out a little bit more beriable because the colour is so stunning and brightining and perfect for summer. Oxydent sugar free gum (Spearmint and Tropical)- Recently i'be become a bit of a gumaholic (reminds me of school days, where there wasn't a day i didn't have gum). Gumaholic is a tad of an exagaration i simply like to keep a tub in my bag and these packets are cheap (you get two in per pack) cheerfull and long lasting. Storage baskets- I've had these baskets for quite a while, but only now have i put them to good use and put them out on display (my spring clean had something to do with that, expect a spring clean post soon). I truly believe storage baskets are the best form of storage neat, compact and sleek. What have you been loving this month? Claire x Twitter@claire_spiers Instagram@_clairespiers Tumblr@clairespiers

Review: Natural collection blushed cheeks (peach melba).

Natural collection blushed cheeks.
The product.
In (peach melba).
Swatch.
I've never been a blush girl, i have a very minimal blush collection, and before now it was very rare that i wore blush. I've always been on the look out for a nice peachy blush, though i have never had much luck. Either to orange, to light or to dark. But after a rummage around in my local boots i came across the natural collection stand, a stand i have definitely neglected until now. I picked up their Blushed cheeks blush in (peach melba) and it is honestly the most stunning colour ever. On the peach rictor scale it's definitely more pink than orange, more for all you pinky peach girls. It has great lasting power, only one touch up required if that, and depending on how you put it on it doesn't look to heavy (probably the reason i fear blush). I was going to do a swatching on my cheeks, but i've had quite a spotty breakout so i'm not really photoready, so we'll hold off on the cheek swatch and i'll try and include it in my next FOTD. Do you have any peach blush recommendations, enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend. Claire x Twittter@claire_spiers Instagram@_clairespiers Tumblr@clairespiers

Flapjacks.

The flapjacks.
My aim for this blog is to make it more lifestyle orriantated still sticking with the fashion and beauty, i just think i could encourprate more lifestyle into it and since i finsh college soon now is the perfect time to start. I rarely bake or cook (i'm no domestic goddess), i have to be in the mood to bake/cook but today i was in the mood, and i wanted to whip up something fairly healthy, obviously this could be made healthier (something i'll experiment more with in the future) but i decided i'd bake some flapjacks (the image of the flapjacks above looks more like a flapjack crumble), i'll list the how to do's, ingredients, measurements and utensils below: Ingredients: -200g butter (utterly butterly) -50g dark brown sugar (tatelyle fairtrade cane sugar unrefined demerara) -350ml golden syrup (silver spoon golden syrup) -400g rolled oats (mornflake superfast oats) -pinch of salt (morrisions table salt) .In brackets the products i used. .This made 12. Utensils: -Saucepan -Wooden spoon -Measuring spoons -Baking tray -Scales -Oven (180c) Method: 1- Melt butter, sugar and syrup together in a saucepan. 2- Add oats and salt and mix well together. 3- Even out into a grased tin and bake for 20-25 minutes. Top tip: Cut into pieces when mixture is still warm from the oven. Obviously you could add rasins or chocolate chips or whatever you prefer. I must tell you though they were delish. I've been loving all the food hype on blogs recently so this is definitely something i will continue with. I hope you liked this different kind of post. New funky shoes.

I was going to do a what's in my bag post tonight but i brought new shoes and couldn't wait to tell you about them.
Primark's shoe range is marmite situation with me, sometimes I go in there and believe I've found some goodens (like these) other times I leave wondering why I went in. These shoes were an absolute bargain (their another mamite piece) personally i love them but you might look at them and go yuk!!! Not to long ago i saw a black pair in rivers (river island) and i was very tempted. But today when i saw these in Primark (one of the last two) for £6 i just couldn't leave them behind. The sizing is S/M/L i got medium (size 5/6) and they fit perfectly. I've not worn them properly so i can't give them a proper review, but when i do you'll be the first to hear it. One thing i will say and i actually tweeted about is the smell... they smell disgusting like sweaty plastic but in my opinoun their so beautiful it's worth it.

Reveiw: I love vanilla & ice cream hand cream.

The product
I recently picked up the I love hand cream in vanilla & ice cream. I've never used an I love... product before so i had no expectations. The first thing that hit me was the smell, i personally hate the smell but it does come in lemon & lime and coconut. It's quite greasy which i don't like and it's also really thick. I don't find it very moisturising, i've had better. There's a lot of product in the tube so it'll definitely last a while but personally i won't be purchasing it again. I'm looking for a more natural hand cream, if you have any recomendations let me know. Claire x Twitter@claire_spiers Instagram@_clairespiers Tumblr@clairespiers

My top 5 lipstcks,

The top 5
All named and swatched
More names and swatches
So as promised here are my top 5 lipsticks. This was such a task because i literally love nearly all the lipsticks i have. Also this is only my top 5 current lipsticks. You should be proud i whittled it down from 11 to 5. Melba from Body collection maxi lipstick. This lipstick i love, i don't wear it as much as i used to, but it's still up there. Its definitely the perfect summer/bronzed colour. It also has a glossy finish. Shade 11 from MUA lipstick. Sometimes when wearing this you can't tell it's lipstick because personally for me it's quite near to my natural colour. The fact it's brown could make it seasonal if you have quite pale lips. Totally nude by MUA matte lipstick. Perfect!! The perfect shade of nude. Because it's such a natural colour it goes with everything, any clothing, any make up look. It's fairly long lasting and it's also quite moisturising for a matte lipstick. 600 soft coral by Rimmel london moisture renew lipstick. This is one of my favourite colourful lipsticks (i say colourful because i mainly stick to nudes and browns). The pop of pink makes it perfect with a neutral look. It's also heavily glittered, which normally i hate but i think it sits well with the colour. Radiant ruby 180 by Revlon renewst lipcolour. I've already dedicated a post to this beauty this week. But it's managed it's way into my top 5. It's my idea of the perfect red and everything i said in my previous post about it. What's your top 5 lipsticks? My new go to lipstick.

The packaging
Revlon renewest lipcolour
(Radiant ruby 180)
The stick
Swatch
So whilst at college today i saw the new tag in the blogger/youtuber world (you know i love a good tag), that tag being "lip product addict tag". Well when it came to e actually doing the tag, i couldn't pick a favourite lip balm, a favourite red lip or a favourite matte. So accepting i was defeated and i need more time to think and pick, i thought i would let guys in on my new go to lipstick. You'll be shocked to hear it's a red... i've always shyed away from red lipstick, i've had to many bad red lipstick teeth experiences and it kind of haunts me. This wonderful lipstick i'm talking about is by Revlon renewest lipcolour in (Radiant Ruby 180). This isn't any red it's a mutted red, with a brown undertone. It's a matte opaque finish and has such a long lasting time, it fades a bit after a while not drastically though. At college i don't have time to re-apply my lippy every time it fades, i barely have time to check it's still in tact. And one touch up through a 9 hour day at college is pretty good going if you ask me. The fact it's mutted makes it more wearable, i'm normally a nude lip girl but maybe this has converted me. I'll have a top 5 lipstick post up soon. Claire x Twitter@claire_spiers Instagram@_clairespiers Tumblr@clairespiers

Beauty and skincare haul.

The goodies.
So recently i've been on a real beauty kick and i've been in to testing different products, especially lipsticks (i tweeted the other day saying "i've brought seven lipsticks in the past two weeks" and yeah it's true, but i'm not sorry). Every girl needs lipsticks in every colour right??? I'll list below what i got but there's a new blush, a new bronzer (which i indented taking these shots), nails, a bit of skin care and yeah seven lipsticks. 1. Simple kind to skin soothing facial toner It's a sturdy bottle i must of dropped this at least a hundred times. 2. Simple kind to skin smoothing facial scrub. Not to harsh on the skin. 3. Primark p.s.love natural point nails. They're not the best but for £1 cani really complain? 4. Natural collection blushed cheeks (peach melba). Offically the best blush ever!!! 5. MUA bronzer (shade 3). The best MUA bronzer i've ever used. 6. Revlon renewest lipcolour (radiant ruby 180). I recommend to any red lip girls. 7. Revlon renewest lipcolour (pretty in pink 070). I haven't used it let but the second i do you'll be the first to know. 8. MUA matte lipstick (fawn fancy). Definitely up there in my top ... favourite lipsticks. 9. MUA lipstick (shade 14 bare). Another one up there in y top faves. I like how MUA have started naing their lipsticks i wish they did it with everything. 10. Body collection lipstick (41 mango mood). Stunning colour but it just doesn't suit me which is such a shame because it is really pretty. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an orange/coral lipstick. 11. Body collection lipstick (19 frosted barley). This really isn't my kind of lipstick to glittery/shimmery for me. 12. Body collection lipstick (98 pink candy). Another lipstick which is up there in my faves, the perfect browny/pinky nude. What's your latest beauty buys? Claire x Twitter@claire_spiers Instagram@_clairespiers Tumblr@clairespiers

My first ever empties post.

All my empties.
So for a while i've been collating all my empties, to put together this post. I haven't got many empties but hopefully this is a first of many empties post. 1. Macadamia oil extract hair treatment- this is was my first ever hair ask and because it was only one i had ever tried i thought it was ok because i have nothing to compare it to. But it did leave my hair feeling healthy and smelling extra nice and it also lasted me a good 2-3 months. 2. Simple kind to skin soothing anti-perspirant. I've mentioned this before in another post but i'll say it again. I think this is brilliant and it's definitely the best ever roll on deodrant i've ever used and i will continue to repurchase it. Again a good few months worth of uses. 3. Simple kind to hair gentle care conditioner. Another simple product.. This worked really well for looking after my scalp and hair, i'd definitely recomend it. I'm currently testing a diffrent conditioner but i did buy another one of these just for backup. 4. Ted Baker body spray. I had two of these i lost one in London and i've just finished this one. This was my signature fragrance last summer and i need to repurchase it once again. I absolutley love it smells amazing and so refreshing, a proper summer scent. 5. Soap and glory Mist you madly. "A flirty floral body spray". I used to love this, now i don't love it as much as i did back in the day but i did get through a good four bottles of the stuff and maybe one day i'll reignite my love. Have a good week, Claire x Twitter@claire_spiers Instagram@_clairespiers

My fake tanning routine.

What i use.
As summer is nearly here, the bronzed/tanned look is back. Recently i've been really getting into tanning, something i thought i'd never say considering a few years ago i was an anti tan girl. I love everything about fake tan, i espically love the smell (is that weird?). I thought i'd share with you my fake tanning routine. 1. Exfoliating!! Firstly a deep exfoliation in the shower to remove any dead skin or previous tan. I use an exfoliator on the back of a sponge or a mit or gloves. 2. Moisturising!! I don't necessarily follow the rules with this one. I only moisturise my hands knees and elbows, i don't moisturise my whole body because when i do and then i apply tan it's not as dark and also i feel doesn't come out as well. 3. Tanning!! I absolutley categorically have to use a tanning mit. (A bad experience with fake tan and no mit when i was in year 8 has haunted me for life). I'm currently using the St.Moriz instant self tanning lotion (medium). I do love this tan but you have to very carefull with it like other tans it stains clothing (if you spill it) it can come out streaky. But the colour, the smell and it's lasting power (4/5 days) makes it a winner in my book. 4. Keeping that tan!! When the tan starts to fade noramally around the 4th or 5th day, you want to try and salvage your tan. The best product i've found to help keep my tan is Dove summer glow nourishing lotion which is basically a tanning moisturiser. I also have that in the summer glow + soft shimmer (just added glitter). I absolutley love these their hassle free, i even use them on their own with no fake tan if i can't be botherd to tan. They have great lasting power and the tan comes out over about 2 days and also you don't have to use a mit (i don't), i'd definitely recommend everyone to try one of the out. 5. My tanning tip!! Bend your elbows and knees when applying tan in those areas for a better outcome. What's you top tanning products? Claire x Twitter@claire_spiers Instagra@_clairespiers

3 for 2 at Superdrug.

All the goodies.

swatch.
MUA lipstick shade 14 (BARE)
Swatch
MUA matte lipstick (FAWN FANCY)
Swatch
MUA bronzer shade 3
A 3 for 2 at Superdrug is always a good offer and i can always be assured that i'll be leaving the store with goodies. This weekend when Superdrug had their 3 for 2 offer on i wasn't let down. I got gorgeous new products and overall it only cost me £2. It only cost me £2 because everything i picked up was from MUA one of my favourite drugstore brands (where everything is normally in the £1-£5 range) for £1 their not bad quality either. So what did i get from the pics above you can see i picked up two listicks (i'm going through a drastic lipstick phase) one matte finish from MUA in (FAWN FANCY), one glossy finish also fro MUA in (shade 14 BARE). I also picked up a much needed bronzer from MUA in (shade 3). Each product i'm very happy with and maybe i'll post a review of them soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Get un-ready with me.

A get un-ready with me is nearly as popular as a get ready with me these days, so i thought it was my turn to do one. This normally applys at the end of a long day, but ocasionally some days when i get home from college. This is my un-ready routine: 1st- Get rid of makeup!!Remove make up using Body care cotton pads and Tea tree foaming face wash. 2nd-Shower time!! Ofcourse i use my trusty simple soap. For hair i use two medical shampoos, and then i just apply conditioner, i'm currently using Herbal essences moroccan my shine. Occasionally i add a hair mask (i'm on the look out for a new one so recoendations welcome. 3-Out the shower!! First things first i towl dry my hair adding on Tresemme thermal creations, and Salon chic so smooth and if i blow dry my hair i use Garnier fructis style spray. 4-Toning and moisturising!! I grab my trusty Sanctuary instant hydrating toner and apply to my face using the Body care pads. Once the toners sunk in i use a ore heavy moisturiser at night so i use Astral original moisturiser. 5-More moisturising!! To moisturise the rest of my body i use Aveeno skin relief shea butter moisturising lotion, personally i think this smells awful but it works really well so i stick it out. 6-Now it's time to relax!! I normally burn a candle Yankee candle being my favourite brand (i couldn't possibly pick a favourite candle). I then make a green tea or a milky tea ( milky for bed) then i either catch up on my diary, read perks of being a wallflower or (my current favourite) watch skins (i've nearly finsihed series 2 and it's took me about 3 weeks). So that was my normal get unreadyy with me routine obviously there's added painting nails, and fake tanning (but that's not every day). What's your favourite un-ready with me products? Nail polish obsession tag.

Recently I've become a bit of a nail polish obsessed person so I thought this tag was perfect for me as I love a good ol' tag. So here's my nail polish obsessions tag:
What's your favourite nail polish company? High street I'd say Revlon,  high end I'd say nails inc.
Glitter or no glitter? I used to love glitter, not so much now but I'm still going to say glitter.
Opi, china glaze or Essie? Opi, I think they bring out the nicest collections and have a polish for everyone for every mood and there also such good quality.
When do your change your nail polish? At least once or twice a week normally after they've chipped a bit.
What's your favourite colours on your nails? I'm really into dark pinks and reds at the moment.
Darks or brights? A few years back I would of definitely said brights but now I'm fully transformed and saying darks.
What are you wearing on your nails right this moment? Colour unlimited nail polish ( its a dark pink) its not got a name for the colour or anything and I got it as a Christmas present but honestly it's the best pink polish I've ever had. It's only really small so I need another dark pink polish, recommendations welcome.
Matte nails in or out? In I like the matte effect, I've never tried it personally but I like it on other people and I know topshop do a good matte nail polish range.
French manicure? Yes I'm really into them at the moment.
Favourite winter colour? Black, brown or red.( Revlon 903 hot for chocolate) (Calvin Klein red red).
